What? Dudley is looking for young people to join its young person’s committee. Members should either be young people who have used the What? Centre’s services or young people who know of the What? Centre’s services and wish to support these services in a positive way. Please see role description at the end of the form.

Youth Steering Group: Role description
Skills could be, but are not limited to:
• Knowledge of mental health and wellbeing
• Wishing to promote good mental health
• Lobbying for excellence in services around mental health
• Knowledge of technology
• Political and current affairs knowledge
• Administrative skills
• Marketing skills
• Verbal skills
• Report writing
• Help with contributing to the writing of bids – (co-production)
• Willingness to look at pioneering ways of providing services
• Speaking at presentations or debates
• Working with the youth parliament
• Reporting to the Board of Trustees
• Supporting the running of groups
• Supporting the development of new online services
• Supporting with developing our new website
• Promotion of services
• Volunteering
These roles will help What? Dudley in its growth and promotion and will also enhance our provision. We would also like to be able to offer young people who have used our services to be able to have a say in how these could be improved. Peer support within the group will also be important where those who are more confident will support others who are less confident to contribute to the development of our current and new services.
